ALL ABOUT NDA at a GLIMPSE

Written ExamPattern
The written pattern is, Two parts of booklets will be provided to the candidate and in which Part A is completely mathematics and Part B is completely General Ability.
PART A: Mathematics
Total marks: 300
Total time: 2 1/2 Hours
Total questions: 120
Marks for each question: 2.5

Negative marking: -0.83
The safe side of getting qualified in mathematics is to attempt "correct" and "confident" 75 to 80 questions for a good position in the merit list. And mind the fact that SSB accessors don't have any idea about your marks. So a safe side of scoring in maths should be around 150+ marks by any chance.

Strategy: Complete all the Previous year's questions from Arihant book thoroughly and be flourished with every NCERT exercise for 11th and 12th. Have time-tracked solving and attempt and mark answers wisely while mock tests.

PART B: General  Ability Test
Total marks: 600
Total time: 2 1/2 hours
Total questions: 150
Marks for each question: 4
Negative marking: -1

Part B is all about Speed and accuracy with no doubt every question you answer in OMR must be known and confident for you. Part B has 50 questions in English. And 100 questions about other subjects. In English above 130 marks is a good range and in General knowledge above 250 marks is appreciable.

This fact is often not known that from the general knowledge section, there are superficially about six sections.
Section A: Physics carries approximately 25% weightage
Section B: Chemistry carries approximately 15% weightage
Section C
: Biology carries approximately 10% weightage
Section D: History carries approximately 20% weightage
Section E: Geography carries approximately 20% weightage
Section F: Current Affairs carries approximately 10% weightage

Strategy: For physics, it's suggestible to be flourished with 10th and 11th NCERT problems, and a few logical senses are tested. For Chemistry advisably 9th and 10th NCERT are enough. Biology word-by-word reading of 9th and 10th NCERT is enough.

For History and Geography, the syllabus mostly is within the 6th to 10th. I shall suggest people read them thoroughly from 6th to 10th for history and for geography 11th and 12th NCERT. For polity, I feel that one must be known about the constitution in brief, amendments, articles, and schedules. Current affairs- 6 months before the notification release date and newspaper reading or defence facts will be enough.

RESOURCES FOR GETTING INTO MERIT
Written: Arihant Previous Year questions, 11th and 12th NCERT Maths, 6th to 10th NCERT for history, 11th and 12th NCERT for Geography, 10th and 11th NCERT+JEE level questions for Physics, 9th and 10th NCERT for chemistry and biology, Drishti IAS, Jagran Josh, Byju's website and recently published Manorama Book for Current Affairs. English mostly the previous year question of Arihant will do your Job

SSB: I myself went to Centurion Defense Academy (Lucknow) and got trained by the best officers, psychologists, and Interviewing officers for my SSB Here your daily prep matters, and your physical fitness too. I had 3 mock interviews and psych dozier sessions, OIR, PP, and DT sessions regularly, and GTO (Group tasking obstacles) Outdoor. So, it actually changes the perception of one.

Thus, every step you take here matters, every action counts, observe yourself well rather than others pointing to you. For becoming an officer before start being and precepting as one.
All the very best future defence Cadets.
